What Creates Action? 

A person can posses wild, creative thoughts in their mind and all kinds of desire but without action what value does their artistic creativity bring? 

I believe that to have action you must have an imbalance.  Wind, it moves from high pressure to low pressure.  When a person desires something they lack, they act upon it.  It’s an imbalance in our present state that drives us to act. 

For an artist what is that imbalance?  What causes them to act and create art?  What is that fundamental motivation?

This world is filled with vast riches of tremendous beauty, from the most massive to the smallest simple things we encounter daily.  Have you ever been lost in someone’s eye and the cosmos of colors inside?

For myself as an artist I’m acutely aware of the raw beauty that I’m attempting to capture and my glaring inability to fully express that moment. 

It’s that imbalance –

the beauty of the world on one side- and my human imperfections on the other that creates the force behind each endeavor. 

This is what causes me to strive with all my tools and skill to share the story I see. 

It’s a give and take, it’s imperfect, it’s a feeling. 

To me that’s the art.
